Pilot Light partners with educators to bring the power of food into everyday classroom learning. In addition to writing for their website, I have scripted their live auction event “Feed Your Mind” gala, which raised over $600,000 in one night.
HEALTH & DISABILITY ADVOCATES
One of my proudest moments was creating these two spots for Health & Disability advocates. Part of a larger campaign encouraging people to think beyond what they currently think about people with disabilities, I love the positive nature. And the actors were absolutely a joy to work with.

The Client wanted to remove the stigma of this subject and make the site and the vital information as accessible as possible. Over 30,000 words, the copy was translated from medical speak to make it more friendly and usable
UNICEF TAP WATER WEEK
Working with UNICEF for their international water week, I was the creative lead/head writer for the Chicago efforts. The premise was wonderfully simple: Instead of guilting people into donating, we asked that they consider paying for something that they rarely pay attention to—the water they receive at restaurants and bars. We were able to increase awareness by 40% and raised over $20,000 in less than a week.
LINCOLN PARK ZOO
Lincoln Park Zoo is a non-profit zoo in the heart of Chicago. I was brought on as their first out-side agency/writer to help bolster its image as a zoo that is serious about its animal care while remaining a fun, desirable “must-see” attraction in Chicago. From social video posts to weekly Facebook posts, I became the voice of the Zoo.
EVERYBLOCK (now Next Door)
The idea was simple: A hyper-local network of news and resident-generated content to bring neighbors closer to one another. I was brought on as the de-facto agency/writer and helped launch the Chicago website in two weeks from inital meeting. We went on to branch out to Philadelphia, New York, and Seattle.
